Deputy Mayor, Earl Hawkins Celebrates 25 Years!

Council recently recognized Deputy Mayor Earl Hawkins for his exceptional 25 years of service on Mulmur Council. Earl's journey started in 1991 as a Councillor and continued for approximately 18.5 years. In 2016, he became the Deputy Mayor, a position he has proudly held for the last seven years. Earl's extensive committee memberships and 25 years of Council experience reflect his dedication and loyalty to the residents of Mulmur. His continued devotion to serving the community is truly admirable.


Throughout his time on Council, Earl has made a lasting impact on the community. His service to the Township of Mulmur has been invaluable, and the Township is grateful to have an experienced leader like Earl on Council. Earl's passion for his work is evident, and his unwavering commitment to the community has been a source of inspiration for many. We extend our congratulations to Earl on this significant achievement and thank him for his years of service and dedication to Mulmur Council.

Traffic and Noise Complaints


There has been an increase in concerns surrounding traffic and vehicle noise on our roadways. The Township is dedicated to supporting its residents and is currently exploring various traffic calming measures.


Excessively loud vehicles and exhaust systems are policed by the OPP through the Highway Traffic Act. The OPP often conduct enforcement on load vehicles throughout Dufferin. Please contact the OPP directly to advise them of concerns and offences so that they are better able to address the concerns of Mulmur residents throughout their patrols.

The Mulmur-Melancthon Fire Department is recruiting volunteers! They are a rural Volunteer Fire Department operating out of the hamlet of Honeywood, servicing approximately 800 households with 27 volunteer fire fighters.

Thomson Trail ice rink is back this winter!


We are excited to announce that the Thomson Trail Community Ice Rink is returning for its third year! However, we need volunteers to help with the set up and weekly maintenance of the rink. This is a great opportunity for high school students to earn community hours while giving back to the community. We welcome and appreciate the support of anyone who is willing to lend a hand.
