Today a Painter, Writer, or Reader

Tomorrow a Leader!

Oka Elementary has been busy with reading, writing, and watercolor painting now that school is back in session. From fifth-grade book buddies modeling reading skills to first-grade students learning to book shop for their "just right book." The Wolfpack is off to a wonderful start!

Physics Egg Toss Challenge

Talbert Middle School

Last week, Talbert 8th-grade Physical Scientists took on the challenge to build a structure that would prevent a raw egg from breaking when dropped from a significant height. Their designs had to reduce the amount of energy transferred from potential to kinetic energy on the eggshell and be made from household items. Congratulations T-Birds!

Patriots Day

in honor of 9/11

Newland Elementary gathered to remember and honor the events of 9/11 with first responder parents and a flag ceremony led by boys and girls of Pack 1226. Way to go, Dolphins!

Reading Intervention Teachers

are out in full force next week

A massive shout-out to our Reading Intervention Teachers! Last week, FVSD Reading TOSA Stephanie Rigdon led the group kick-off training. Starting next week, they will use their special skills and techniques to support our students at the school sites. Thank you for your dedication to our students!

Credential Candidates and their Coaches

First and Second Year Teachers

This year's group of credential candidates talked about how excited they are to be in FVSD. Some are alumni of our schools, live in our two cities, or are very close by. We're proud to be a destination district for many new teachers.
