December 1 - 17, 2023
Quick Link to Tickets
Fauquier Community Theatre presents Miracle on 34th Street, the Play on Fridays and weekends December 1 - 17, 2023. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees are at 2 pm.
The cast of 24 actors will delight audiences! The play is adapted from the novel by Valentine Davies and based upon the Twentieth Century Fox motion picture Miracle on 34th Street. Kris Kringle, a nice old man from a retirement home, gets a job working as a Christmas Santa at Macy’s. His honest and generous spirit unleashes waves of good will throughout New York City, and a hint of magic in the heart of a very practical little girl named Susan. But some see his claims of being 'the real Santa' as delusional, and Kris ends up in a court competency hearing where his freedom and the joys of childhood are at stake! In a dramatic decision, the court confirms Kris as the true Santa, allowing Susan and countless other children to experience the joy of Santa for the rest of their lives.
Rehearsals are taking place and you will want to include this play in your holiday plans! After all, Santa is in the play and one of our favorite scenes so far is when he speaks in Dutch to the young girl who just arrived from Holland. We have the real Santa here at FCT who will charm audiences in this poignant holiday story.
The play is directed by Michelle Matthews with and by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company. Visit www.FCTstage.org to purchase tickets and to also see the cast list on the home page post! There are almost 200 tickets sold already, so reserve your favorite seating choices today!

OCTOBER 25 AND OCTOBER 28, 2023
| |
AUDITIONS! Fauquier Community Theatre will present the play DRIVING MISS DAISY in March 2024 directed by Jeff Walker and produced by Stub Estey.
Synopsis:
The place is the Deep South, the time 1948, just prior to the civil rights movement. Having recently demolished another car, Daisy Werthan, a rich, sharp-tongued widow of seventy-two, is informed by her son, Boolie, that henceforth she must rely on the services of a chauffeur. The person he hires for the job is a thoughtful, unemployed black man, Hoke, whom Miss Daisy immediately regards with disdain and who, in turn, is not impressed with his employer’s patronizing tone and, he believes, her latent prejudice. But, in a series of absorbing scenes spanning twenty-five years, the two, despite their mutual differences, grow ever closer to, and more dependent on, each other.
Auditions are on Wednesday October 25, 2023 from 7 to 10 pm and Saturday October 28, 2023 from 2 to 5 pm. Pre-registration is required and those auditioning should choose just one of those days.

UPCOMING AUDITIONS
AT FAUQUIER COMMUNITY THEATRE
AUDITIONS FOR THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR
NOVEMBER 2023
| |
Auditions for The Merry Wives of Windsor directed by Maggie Mumford
will take place in November 2023.
More information about auditions including the exact days and times may be found later on the Audition Tab of the FCT website www.FCTstage.org.
Synopsis:
In The Merry Wives of Windsor, Shakespeare’s “merry wives” are Mistress Ford and Mistress Page of the town of Windsor. The two play practical jokes on Mistress Ford’s jealous husband and a visiting knight, Sir John Falstaff. Merry wives, jealous husbands, and predatory knights were common in a kind of play called “citizen comedy” or “city comedy.” In such plays, courtiers, gentlemen, or knights use social superiority to seduce citizens’ wives.
The Windsor wives, though, do not follow that pattern. Instead, Falstaff’s offer of himself as lover inspires their torment of him. Falstaff responds with the same linguistic facility that Shakespeare gives him in the history plays in which he appears, making him the “hero” of the play for many audiences.
The Merry Wives of Windsor is directed by Maggie Mumford and produced by Peter Mumford. Performances of The Merry Wives of Windsor will take place on Fridays and weekends February 2 - 18, 2024 at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green. Tickets are available now at www.FCTstage.org.
