New School Year = New Content!

The electrical training ALLIANCE was hard at work all summer to launch Interim Credentials v2 in time for the new school year. Thank you for your patience while we adapt to the new system. Our development team is still working on additional features, like in-depth progress reporting. Stay tuned for more exciting updates to come!

Perkins Innovation and Modernization (PIM) Grant Program for Career-Connected High Schools Opportunity

The purpose of the Perkins Innovation and Modernization Grant Program is to “identify, support, and evaluate evidence-based and innovative strategies and activities to improve and modernize Career and Technical Education (CTE) and align workforce skills with labor market needs in CTE programs funded under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006.”

With this FY 2023 competition, the U.S. Department of Education seeks to “support applicants that will build capacity among secondary education, postsecondary education, and workforce development systems to expand access to career-connected high school programs for more students.” Registered apprenticeship programs are among the activities eligible for funding, and nonprofit organizations (such as electrical apprenticeship programs associated with the electrical training ALLIANCE) are eligible as subgrantees. This is an incredible opportunity to fund Interim Credentials with Perkins funding! Would you like to have a set of NFPA 2023 Code Books for your classroom? Hardbound versions of the e-textbooks provided? Hands on materials or equipment to round out the curriculum? How about virtual reality headsets and VR lessons to practice job skills?

Proposals are due by October 13, 2023, but they must be submitted by an LEA, technical schools, community colleges, and/or state educational agencies. These funds can be used to purchase tools, equipment and consumables to provide supportive services, and to cover curricula costs. Please visit this website if you’d like to read more about the grant program:

Admin Question of the Month:

What's the difference between licenses, subscriptions and tokens?

All three provide users different types of access to the course:

  • All users must have a license to log into the course - teachers & students are both purchased through the etA bookstore.
  • Subscriptions provide teachers access to course content for one year and auto-renew annually. We recommend teachers be assigned subscriptions.
  • Tokens provide access to course content for two years and does not auto-renew. Students should be assigned tokens.
  • Both subscriptions and tokens are purchased through the Training Management System.

Teacher Question of the Month:

Where can detailed student progress reporting be found?

  1. In the LMS, go to the Reports tab at the top of the dashboard.
  2. Open Course/Session Reports.
  3. Open CML Reports.
  4. There are three CML reports. The Student Progress Report provides the most detail.
