It's time for Graduation Credit Reviews and College Applications!

Dear WTMC 3rd Year or Above Student,

Congratulations for getting to this point in your academic career! In addition to academic courses, the coming year will be an exciting time of preparation and planning for life after WTMC.

If this is your final year at WTMC, it is required that you have a Graduation Credit Review. This fall, Ms. Hanson will be auditing your transcripts and will share a Graduation Credit Review Summary with you and your BASE Advisor, electronically as a Google Sheet. This is a critical step to ensure all requirements are met in order for you to graduate. Make sure you check your WCC email regularly!

Other required tasks:

  • All 3rd year (or above) students complete the “WTMC Graduation Information, Application, & Diploma Form” found by clicking HERE. Complete this even if you are NOT planning to graduate this year, or if you completed it last year.

  • IF YOU PLAN TO GRADUATE FROM WCC IN DECEMBER 2023 - The WCC Graduation Application is now open! Complete the “Application” on the WCC website HERE. This is due no later than September 30, 2023.

  • All 3rd year (or above) students visit the “2023-2024 WTMC 3rd Year and Above Graduation Seminar” on Blackboard (available now and throughout the year) for further instructions, announcements, and resources. Specific topics include, applying to college, receiving financial aid for college, ordering transcripts, completing graduation applications for WCC, and other information related to upcoming graduation and the credit review process.

  • *Even if this does not apply to you this school year, you will benefit from becoming familiar with these resources in preparation for your final year at WTMC.

College Application Process:

If you are planning to apply to a 4-year college this fall, here are the steps you can take now:

Step 1: Build a College Interest List - Narrow down your list of possibilities. If you are still unsure, you can use a tool to help you compare schools. You can filter by size, location, major etc. on https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/

Step 2: Schedule College Visits - Visit the colleges you are considering. If you can schedule a college visit in person, that is one of the best ways to explore the campus to see if it “fits”. Some colleges have specific “visit days” while others ask that you call and make an appointment so they can schedule a tour. The college website will provide this information.

  • College admissions representatives will visit WTMC this fall to meet with prospective students, you can see the schedule and RSVP by clicking HERE.

Step 3: Begin College Applications - The college admissions website will explain the preferred method of application for first year students; either electronically through their unique college system, or through the Common Application. If you are already working on your common application, you will need to invite Ms. Hanson as your “School Counselor” so that she can submit required information. If you will need a letter of recommendation from Ms. Hanson, you will need to complete a “Student Brag Sheet” and email it to her.

Step 4: If You Have Questions or Need Help, Meet with your Counselor - You can Use this Calendly link to schedule an individual meeting (either in-person or virtually) www.calendly.com/chanson-wtmc and choose the meeting type/length that works best for you.
