The Board of Directors approved the use of “All in for Hendo” funds to support businesses who are struggling to re-open due to damages caused by Tropical Storm Helene. In the past, these funds have been used to support members who were experiencing hardship, scholarships for business programs, support for apprenticeship programs and more. This expansion is designed to help more businesses recover from Helene in an expedited manner.
“We are thankful to our many members who have contributed a little extra through their “All in for Hendo” investment add-on. When 350 members voluntarily give a little, we can end up with a lot. Those funds will be supplemented with larger contributions to build this business support fund”, said Chamber Chairman Ragan Ward. Large supporters, to date, include: Jabil, Park National Bank, United Community, and Horizon Heat & Air Conditioning. More are expected when fundraising efforts begin.
The Chamber is working with other, like-minded organizations, to potentially create a combined fund for business recovery. Partners in this effort include The Community Foundation of Henderson County, the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, Downtown Hendersonville, the Henderson County Travel & Tourism Authority, and Blue Ridge Community College. Details of this fund, application process and criteria should be released soon.
During the next few months, The Chamber, and all of the partner organizations, will be working to raise money and provide assistance to businesses that need to get back on their feet and operational.
