Boatyard Biz: No rest for winter's weary, Haven Harbour spring-bound

Winter at Haven Harbour is a time for our staff to prepare for the summer season to come – and to complete many major projects for our clients before their official splash in the spring.

Whether it be the painting of hulls, re-power of engines, repair of teak, or installation of the latest electronics, the boating off-season is primetime for owners to enhance their vessels in preparation for the season ahead – and for Haven Harbour Yacht Services to help check off numerous vessel improvement wish lists.

Two of few businesses open year-round in our town, there are always tasks to be done by the trusted teams of Haven Harbour Marina and Haven Harbour South. Cases in point being the work on two re-powers currently in-shop, a 300-hp Mercury and 70-hp Yamaha mounted on a small skiff; the complete rehab of a dash panel and accompanying window frames; ongoing rydlyme descaling services for heat exchangers; as well as the custom, in-house patterning of hinge plates for a powerboat arch. All in all, there is simply no job too big or too small that our skilled teams cannot sort out.

Although we welcome winter as a time to catch our collective breath in the "off-season," the truth of the matter is that these short and chilly days are abuzz with excitement and activity in our shops and boatyards. Reminder: Commissioning work order information has been sent

Spring launches are set to begin mid-March, just one month away. With that in mind, we have sent to our wintering customers of Haven Harbour Marina and Haven Harbour South information pertinent to spring commissioning – and the work order to be completed.

If you are a storage customer and have not received said information, please check your email's junk folder. An electronic form is also conveniently accessible 24/7 at havenharbour.com/commissioning. We ask all storage customers to complete and submit their commissioning work orders, via either the online form or downloadable PDF, no later than Friday, March 1.
