Dear Kidznotes Family,

My name is Aubrey Wellfare and I am your new Kidznotes program director. I’m so excited to join the Kidznotes community! Supporting music education is my passion and I can’t wait to meet your superstar musicians this fall.

We say it all the time: we create joy machines. Thanks to our dedicated teaching staff, we are fostering joyful learning environments with lessons students carry with them throughout their lives. Kidznotes students not only graduate with musical ability, but also increased self confidence, critical thinking skills, and ability to collaborate.

Parents and caregivers are the foundation of support for our young learners; I look forward to working together to make Kidznotes the best it can be. The Kidznotes Parent Advisory Council (KPAC) is open to all parents; I will be reaching out to those who indicated interest in the Council so we can begin brainstorming ways to make this school year exceptional.

Thank you for your patience as we prepare the fall schedule; here’s what to expect:

  • Durham Nucleo begins October 9th: Our Durham Nucleo program at Fayetteville Street Elementary. Staff will reach out with your student’s schedule within the next week.

  • Mozart Program sites to be confirmed: Our staff will reach out with more information as soon as possible. The anticipated start date for these programs for 1st and 2nd grades is October 16th.

Questions? Contact program@kidznotes.org. We are ready for another amazing year, and thank you for choosing Kidznotes to be part of your child’s journey!

Best Summer Ever

Over the summer, three Kidznotes students were selected to participate in The Ravinia Orchestras for All program. Graduated Senior Taliyah (viola), Cesar and Samuel (both percussion) joined over 100 other students from across the country in Chicago for three days in July.

What is Ravinia? And what does it mean to the students? Teaching Artist Rosendo — who, with Shana, accompanied the students — says: "The program is a remarkable testament to the power of music to bridge communities and generations. It offers a unique and inspiring experience for young musicians by providing them with the extraordinary opportunity to play with the esteemed Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. The experience is transformative, both for the budding musicians and the professional orchestra members; it fosters a harmonious blend of mentorship, collaboration, and musical excellence.

It is a defining moment for these young talents. It elevates their understanding and appreciation of classical music — allowing them to witness firsthand the precision, dedication, and artistry required at the highest level. It deepens their technical skills and instills a profound sense of aspiration and commitment to their craft."
