The Fall Stated Meeting of Trinity Presbytery was held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Laurens. The meeting opened with prayer by the Moderator,the Rev. Dr. Kyle Hite. Worship followed with a sermon entitled “Be Dazzling” from the Rev. Emily Mooneyhan, Associate Pastor for Congregational Care and Concern, Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
An offering was collected to be designated for the Committee on Preparation for Ministry (CPM) Scholarship Fund. The link to contribute is still live for those who would like to contribute. Trinity Presbytery CPM Offering.
Presbytery was welcomed by the Rev. Dr. Mike McCracken, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Laurens.
The Rev. Dr. Danny Murphy, General Presbyter, was recognized for his dedication and leadership in Trinity Presbytery for the past 23 years. On behalf of the Presbytery Coordinating Team and the Staff of Trinity Presbytery, a Resolution, penned by the Rev. Dr. Robert Scotland was read and presented to Dr. Murphy. Dr. Murphy’s wife, Judith, was also recognized for her support of, not only of her husband, but of the ministries and staff of the Presbytery.
Presbytery welcomed two new members:
Rev. Dr. Lawrence Willis, who will serve as Stated Supply Pastor at Northminster Presbyterian Church
Rev. Dr. Beth Yarborough, who will serve as Parish Associate for First Presbyterian Church in Aiken.
The 2024 Proposed Budget for Trinity Presbytery was adopted.
Oral and /or written reports were presented from all the teams, committees, commissions and focus groups.

The next Stated Meeting of Trinity Presbytery will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Shandon Presbyterian Church in Columbia, convening at 9:30 a.m.
