Dear Rondout Families, Faculty and Friends,
Happy Wednesday…Autumn weather is knocking at our door and it’s time to start thinking about jackets and sweatshirts. We encourage you to label your child’s clothing with their initials or names to make locating the owners of items turned in to the lost and found. It’s not too early to think about winter weather gear and as a reminder the students o out weather permitting if the temperatures and green space conditions support outdoor activities. Just a reminder that snow pants are a must in order to play outdoors when the grounds are snow and ice covered. Boots, hats and gloves are also a necessity. If outfitting your child for winter this year presents a financial challenge, do not hesitate to reach out to me confidentially and we can provide assistance and resources.
While there are still many good weather days ahead, we need to get into the garden and harvest the produce as well as clean out the raised beds before the cold sets in and makes weeding impossible.
The following dates will be Garden Party Dates weather permitting:
Sunday September 17th 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Monday September 18th 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday September 19th 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday September 23rd 12:00 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Additional Days will be added through mid-October when we close up the garden for the season.
We have a great day planned to celebrate the International Day of Peace on Thursday September 21, 2023. See the information shared by the Global Ambassadors Students and Staff Leaders of the Rondout Village Program. Parents are welcome to join us for the activities between 9 and 10 a.m. that day. This will kick-off a multi- year celebration of the many cultures that make up our school community. If you are interested in volunteering to support this year’s activities, please email me at jenny.wojcik@rondoutsd72.org.
Have a wonderful week. Until next time... Take care...
