Join us at 10am Mass THIS SUNDAY as we celebrate the start of

Catholic Schools Week!

Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the U.S. beginning on the last Sunday in January.

We kick off CSW this year with our annual St. Josaphat School Open House this Sunday at 9am. Prospective and current families are invited to tour the school and meet our amazing teachers.

Then join us in church for 10am All School Mass to experience our vibrant, faith-filled community.

Sunday January 28th

9:00 am SJS Open House

10:00 am All School Mass

Our school will continue its celebration throughout the week, with a variety of student activities emphasizing faith, service to others and educational excellence. We will also thank the essential members of our community:

  • Faculty & Staff - Teacher Appreciation Lunch. Their consistent hard work and dedication are a big part of what makes SJS so special.
  • Students - Dress down days (Vocation/College Day; pajamas; spirit wear) and a day with no homework
  • Parents - Appreciation Breakfast, served up by our 8th Graders.

Through all these events, we aim to showcase the value Catholic education provides to young people, as well as its contributions to our Church, our communities and our nation.

Here are a dozen great reasons to choose a Catholic school for your family:

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Feast of St. Blaise - Blessing of Throats

The Feast of St. Blaise is Saturday, February 3rd. St. Blaise is the patron saint of ailments of the throat and each year on the weekend of his feast day, we offer a Blessing of Throats at all Masses:

Saturday, February 3rd at 5pm

Sunday, February 4th at 8am & 10am

Did you know that the red ribbon represents the blood of martyrs, and the candles held in the shape of an "X" represent the martyrdom of another saint, St. Andrew, who according to tradition was crucified on an X-shaped cross. Not only are we freed from disease but from everything keeping us from God.

“Through the intercession of St. Blaise, bishop and martyr, may God deliver you free from every disease of the throat, and from every other disease. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

The Hands of Mercy Aging Ministry Needs You!

Do you have an hour a week to spare for those less fortunate in the new year? If you do, The Hands of Mercy Aging Ministry needs you! This is truly a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in someone else's life, put a smile on their face and make their day. Please contact Kelly Smith if you can help.
