In other data news, on December 4th, Politico published an article entitled AI is driving Google’s health care business. Washington doesn’t know what to do about it.. In this story, Ruth Reader describes Google's aggressive leverage of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, aiming to turn smartphones into "doctors in your pocket." As the tech giant expands its AI applications in medical diagnosis and treatment, it faces scrutiny from lawmakers concerned about patient privacy and potential market dominance, as well as competitors fearing Google's influence on upcoming regulations given their formidable lobbying influence.

 

  • Google is steadily launching artificial intelligence projects and products. The company is now licensing algorithms for detecting breast cancer, lung cancer and gene mutations. It also continues to test AI as a tool for diagnosing diabetic retinopathy, as well as for spotting anomalies in ultrasound images.”

Request for Information (RFI) for Section 824 (Electronic Payroll Information Exchange )

Dept. of Defense

 Oceaneering will provide vital updates and consultation support to the RENAV and HYDRA software. These software tools provide NGA with data that is used to support Geospatial foundational maritime navigation data; they are critical parts of the software baseline for which there are no known alternatives that can satisfy the requirement.

LeoLabs Streaming Conjunction Service (SCS)

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), Office of Satellite and Product Operations (OSPO) has a requirement for satellite-tracking data using phased array radars with conjunction services for low-earth orbit. As space debris continues to increase in OSPO’s satellite operating environment, the OSPO engineering team requires improved conjunction assessment services in low-earth orbits to protect its space assets against collisions with space debris.

Establish A New 3-Year Contract with KBRA Premium Subscription

RTX to improve DoD supply chain resilience

CBP To Use Altana's AI-Powered Map to Investigate Illegal Fentanyl Networks

With the addition of AI systems, agents can see deeper into fentanyl supply chains, leading to bigger seizures of both finished fentanyl and the chemicals used to make it. Altana, a startup that operates a global supply chain platform, is helping Customs and Border Protection agents map how fentanyl ingredients are assembled and shipped to production sites — helping to shut down both.

Panel suggests SEC use existing rules to address advisor AI conflicts

The Securities and Exchange Commission released a proposal over the summer that would require investment advisors and brokers who interact with clients and customers through AI and predictive data analytics to “eliminate or neutralize” situations in which technology optimizes the advisors’ or firms’ revenue interests over the interests of the investor for the highest possible return.

Army asks industry for best acquisition approach for Vantage data platform re-compete

“As part of Army modernization, the Army needs to increase the speed and quality of decision at echelon,” according to a capabilities requirements document posted on Nov. 30. “The right data at the right time is a key enabler for improving decisions … Ease of use at echelon is critical to enable citizen analysts and the data democracy to meet the scale and speed necessary for relevance of our today and future Army.”

Commerce CDO outlines need for data to keep pace with emerging technology

“We have some of the most data-mature organizations in the world, and every American should be incredibly proud of the amazing work happening at places like [the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration], Census and beyond,” Wise said in a recent interview. “But when it comes to the connective tissue of those data siloes, we’re really quite weak, and it’s very hard for our practitioners working bureaus to work collaboratively toward some shared purpose.”

These services aim to attract top innovators, expedite space product development, and contribute to the diversification of the UAE’s economy.

IATA expands operational data analytics capabilities

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that insights from enhancing the analytical capabilities of the IATA Global Aviation Data Management (GADM) program are powering informed decisions to improve safety, operational efficiency and sustainability. The new capabilities take advantage of advancements in big data, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Argentieri on the Use of Data Analytics

Last week, Nicole Argentieri, acting assistant attorney general for the Criminal Division, speaking at the ACI National FCPA reported that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is stepping up its own use of data analytics to identify instances of corporate misconduct, and will boost its cooperation with overseas law enforcement to bring more anti-corruption cases as well. The DOJ and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are increasingly focusing on data analytics for corporate compliance, signaling higher expectations for larger companies.

Socure, BioCatch showcase how to fight financial fraud with biometrics

Socure’s product Control Center is targeting sponsor banks that want to increase the data visibility of their fintech partners and ensure compliance. The Control Center can show KPIs such as fraud rates, CIP approvals, lagging watchlist screening case closures and more. More importantly, it helps lower risks, the company says in an announcement.
