Bees Perform at OMEA All-State Event

Last spring, music students in the state of Ohio were given the opportunity to audition for the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) All-State ensembles. Students were given music on March 1st, 2023, and submitted an audition by May 31st, 2023, to qualify.   The music department at BBHHS was fortunate to have six fantastic students represent us at the Ohio Music Education Association All-State Ensembles on February 2-4. They had all-day rehearsals with around 100 other students from around the state.  Congratulations to our Bees for this outstanding achievement and recognition.

Team 2011 Robotics Tournaments

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Robotics Team 2011 has an exciting weekend ahead! Hosting their first of two home tournaments on consecutive weekends in what is a fantastic opportunity for the BBHHS community to experience a Vex Tournament. As a reminder, all Vex competitions are FREE to the public and we hope to pack The Hive this weekend as we recognize our Seniors on Team 2011.

Next weekend, Team 2011 will partner with Vex Robotics for a Signature Event being held at the Great Lakes Science Center, which is another significant milestone for the program. Signature Events provide a platform for top teams and potentially qualify for prestigious competitions like the World Competition.

Best of luck to Team 2011 and all the participants in their upcoming tournaments!

Boys Basketball Wins Suburban League Championship

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team has once again earned its place as the best team in its conference by clinching their fourth consecutive Suburban League National Conference Championship. In an electrifying showdown against rival North Royalton this past Tuesday, the team secured their title in front of a large crowd during the back-and-forth contest until the final buzzer.

Currently boasting an outstanding record of 16-1 overall and a perfect 11-0 in the Suburban League, the team continues to enjoy a highly successful season under the guidance of Coach Steve Mehalik, a proud BBHHS Alumni. Congratulations to the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Boys Varsity Basketball Team!

Congratulations Kyle Keener

Bees Senior Kyle Keener has recently signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career next year at Hillsdale College as a member of their football team. Kyle has been a standout student-athlete at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, excelling in not just one but two sports as Kyle is also a standout on the Bees Varsity Basketball team.

His accomplishments on the football field have earned Kyle numerous post-season awards as he has been recognized as an Academic All-Ohio Football Player, Second Team All-Ohio Player, and First Team Suburban League. Please join us in congratulating Kyle on his accomplishment and in wishing him all the best in his future endeavors.

BBHHS Career Fair Returns

Last year, Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School hosted our first Career Fair. The event was highly attended, and we are excited to announce that BBHHS will again be hosting our now annual Career Fair on April 11th, 2024, from 9:00 am to 1:15 pm.

This event provides a unique opportunity for students to explore various professions by visiting employers and company representatives to discuss the educational pathways, employment outlook, and financial benefits of entering select professions when entering the workforce. We hope to attract a wide variety of company representation to participate in this event and to engage with our students at this very meaningful career exploration event.

We invite parents, grandparents, and community members who are passionate about their career fields to participate and introduce their company and career to our student body. You can have a table to share insights into your career field, experiences, educational pathway, and future growth. Your valuable contribution will help inspire and guide the next generation. We are looking for all career fields, don’t be shy we have a variety of students looking to discover your field and the opportunities that exist.
