Join us and have a ball during the holiday break at the Brantwood Park Fieldhouse from Dec. 30th, 2024 to Jan. 3rd, 2025 (not including Wednesday, Jan. 1st, 2025).
We are celebrating 4 days of wintery fun-filled indoor and outdoor adventures, exciting activities, and festive arts and crafts! Spaces are limited, so register today to secure your child's spot.
Required Age: 4 - 12 years old on the day of the activity

CAG is offering Day Camps/Holiday Camps for OCDSB, CECCE and CEPEO students for the 2024-25 school year!
Time: 8:45 am to 4:00 pm (Extended Care available until 5:30 pm)
Location: Brantwood Park Fieldhouse (39 Onslow Crescent)
Pricing: $55.00/day/child
Extended Care: $12.50/child

PA Day Camps will be themed, and indoor and outdoor activities will be based on the theme! The next PA Day Camp is Nov 25th, 2024 for CECCE and CEPEO students, and Nov 29th, 2024, for OCDSB students.
A limited number of Extended-Care spots will be available depending on the date of the PA Day Camp. Extended Care will be offered from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and children may be with our regular After-School program where required.

Micro Movement Dance Class
Micro Movement Dance is once again offering children's dance classes at Old Town Hall for the Winter / Spring 2025 term!
Dates: Jan. 12th - June 8th (20 weeks)*
Day: Sundays
Location: Old Town Hall (61 Main Street)

*Please Note: there will be NO class on Easter Sunday (April 20) and Mother's Day (May 11).
There are three opportunities to dance this term:

Grownups + Tots: A creative dance class for walking toddlers (~18 months - 2.5 years) and their grownups.
Preschooler Creative Dance: Exploration of fundamental building blocks of movement through song, dance and play for dancers aged 2.5 - 4 years.
Jazz-Tap Combo: Introduction to ballet, jazz and tap dance techniques through a more structured dance class for dancers aged 3 - 5 years.

About Micro Movement Dance:
Our goal is to encourage a love for dance and movement within a fun, inclusive and educational environment. Our philosophy is that dance is for every-body, and that every body can dance.
Founder and lead instructor Dr. Carolyn Hebert holds a PhD in Education from the University of Ottawa and a Masters of Dance from York University. She has taught recreational and competitive dance in the National Capital Region for over 15 years, is a member of the Ottawa Rhythm Initiative Ensemble, and winner of Faces Magazine's Favourite Dance Instructor, 2020.

2025 Draft Budget Consultation | |
Capital Ward City Councillor Shawn Menard will be co-hosting a public consultation on the 2025 draft budget with Councillors Jessica Bradley (Gloucester-Southgate Ward), Riley Brockington (River Ward) and Marty Carr (Alta Vista Ward).
The consultation will be tomorrow, Wednesday, November 20th at 7:00pm, at the Jim Durrell Recreation Centre, Ellwood Hall, 1265 Walkley Road.

Join Tyler Shaw in Ottawa for a night of fantastic original holiday songs and his take on Christmas classics we all love.
You may not know it, but Tyler Shaw, the 4 times nominated Juno, multi-platinum selling artist, music producer and actor makes his home with his family right here in Old Ottawa East!
He has been creating and performing around the world with the biggest names in the music business since he broke through with his 2012 platinum-charting-hit, Kiss Goodnight. Tyler released a full-length Christmas album in 2021 called A Tyler Shaw Christmas which earned him a Juno nomination in the Adult Contemporary Album of the Year category. He toured that album extensively with The Tenors. He followed up his full-length Christmas album with a cover of This Christmas in 2022 that spent 3 weeks at #1 on Canadian radio. Tyler’s latest releases include the soulful Back to Me and Faded Splendor (featuring Donovan Woods), found wherever you get your music and videos.
Tyler brings his cross-Canada show, A Tyler Show Christmas, to the Algonquin College Commons Theatre (Ottawa) on Thursday, December 19th, 2024 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster and range in price from $32.50 to $39.50 (plus fees and taxes).

The 2024 MAC FAIR is happening Saturday Dec. 7th from 10:00am - 3:00pm at Immaculata High School (140 Main Street)! | |
Featuring over 100 local makers of quality, hand-made goods including home decor, jewelry, fashion, eco-friendly body products, paintings, delicious treats and more! This craft fair helps out students in need within their school community, to ensure that all students get to pursue athletics, clubs, excursions and activities, regardless of their financial situation.
Admission is $3.00, which goes toward extracurricular activities, groups, clubs and social justice initiatives at the school. Your admissions also earns you a free ticket to their raffle with almost 100 fantastic hand-made prizes!

Abbotsford Senior Centre Holiday Craft Fair | |
Visit the Abbotsford Holiday Craft Fair next Saturday Nov. 30th from 10:00am - 2:00pm at the Abbotsford Seniors Centre (950 Bank Street)!
Browse unique hand-made crafts, ornaments and knitwear and enjoy scrumptious homemade treats. Treats will include frozen apple pies to go, just in time for the holiday season!
Admission is free and all proceeds go to Abbotsford Programming & Services.

Ottawa Christmas Market at Lansdowne | |
Starting this Friday, Nov. 22nd at 5:00pm, the Ottawa Christmas Market will be open at Aberdeen Plaza, Lansdowne, for 7 weeks!
From Nov. 22nd, 2024 to Jan. 5th, 2025 enjoy live music, food, activities for children and adults, crafts at Santa's Workshop, and shopping from 50+ local vendors!
The Christmas Tree Lighting and Opening Ceremony will take place on opening night, Friday Nov. 22nd from 5:30pm - 6:30pm at Event Square (in front of the Aberdeen Pavilion).

Take a look at the Ottawa Public Library: Sunnyside Branch events calendar for a weekly snapshot of their upcoming kid, adult and family-friendly programming!
And on Wednesday, Nov. 27th at 6:30pm, attend one of Carleton University's popular Science Cafés, put on by the Faculty of Science. The Science Café series is free to attend and all are welcome! Be prepared to be informed, engaged and entertained, as professors share their scientific discoveries and research with you. Each Café includes a 30 to 40 minute talk by a scientist followed by a moderated question and answer period. The November topic is: The Science of Art Conservation and Preservation.
