Local Business Leader Fills Vacant Seat on Library Board of Trustees
The Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library has announced an addition to its Board of Trustees. Following the resignation of Nancy Marks, the Library Board has appointed Chris Ricciardi, a distinguished local business owner and community leader, to fill the vacancy.
This decision comes at a pivotal time for the library, which is currently expanding its reach with two new satellite centers and undergoing major renovations at its main facility. Rather than leaving the seat vacant, the Board opted for an appointment to ensure strong governance during this transformative period.
Chris Ricciardi brings over 30 years of experience in the home improvement industry and a rich history of community service. He has served as Chair of the Mastic Beach Village Zoning Board of Appeals, Secretary to Zoning and Planning, and is the current Vice President of the Pattersquash Creek Civic Association. His involvement in various community events and initiatives demonstrates his commitment to the community’s growth and development.
Mr. Ricciardi will serve on the Board until the next trustee election on Tuesday, April 2, when he will stand for election. Also on the ballot will be Joseph Maiorana, the current Board President.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the Board,” said Maiorana. “His extensive experience and dedication to community service make him an ideal choice for this role, especially at such a crucial time for our library.”
Kerri Rosalia, the Library Director, echoed these sentiments. “Chris’s appointment is a testament to our commitment to progress and community engagement. His insights and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to transform and grow.”
The library budget vote and trustee election will take place on Tuesday, April 2, at the Mastic Beach Satellite Branch, located at 369 Neighborhood Road, Mastic Beach.
