From Jennifer Jarvis, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management:

I am pleased to announce that Imam Mohammed F. Biwas (Imam Fahim) has joined the campus ministries at Queens College. A native of Queens, New York, Imam Fahim is a devoted educator committed to guiding young Muslims in the West by drawing on his personal experiences to address contemporary challenges faced by today's Muslim youth.

Imam Fahim began his educational journey at Darul Quran WasSunnah, studying traditional Islamic science for seven years. With a deep understanding of the multicultural context of his upbringing, Imam Fahim actively engages with the community. Grounded in the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, his approach combines traditional Islamic knowledge with practical insights, offering relevant guidance to empower youth academically, professionally, and spiritually. His commitment to fostering success in both the traditional and modern worlds makes him a respected figure, inspiring others to embody the principles of the Quran and Sunnah in their daily lives.

Imam Fahim has experience as an inspector for Halal Monitoring Services as well as a teacher at Darul Quran WasSunnah Woodside. He leads Friday sermons at many local mosques in the Queens area and serves as a youth coordinator.

Since joining Queens College, Imam Fahim has met with President Wu and his cabinet as well as campus faith leaders and Student Development and Leadership staff, and he looks forward to meeting and getting to know students, faculty, and staff. He will work with the Office of Student Development and Leadership to develop opportunities to facilitate student dialogue.

I would like to thank the student leadership of the Muslim Student Association as well as administrators from QC Hillel, the Catholic Newman Center, and the Office of Student Development and Leadership who served on the selection committee for this position.
