SPRING 2024 HOUSING PROCESSES ARE NOW AVAILABLE!

Good Morning Zach,

Today marks the official start of the second half of the semester! We hope you’ve enjoyed Fall Break and are excited about the weeks to come.

As a reminder, our Spring 2024 Housing Processes are now available via the Housing Portal. These processes include Room Change Requests, Pull-In Requests, and the Off-Campus Lottery (if eligible). Prior to engaging in any process, you’ll be required to review (or submit) your Spring Intent which is due October 31.

Below, you’ll find additional details about each process. Please read each of them carefully and in its entirety.

ROOM CHANGE REQUESTS

Students who would like to request a room change on-campus for the Spring 2024 semester may submit a request in the Housing Portal. Please note the following, regarding the request:

  • Requests will be processed in the order they are received.
  • Requests will only be considered toward existing Fall 2023 vacancies. Students will be informed about the status of their requests by November 17 via email.
  • If approved to move, students MUST complete their move between November 27 and December 4.
  • Students will have 72 hours after check-in to complete their move and check out of their previous space.
  • To request a room change to or within Block Housing and Residential Engagement Communities, please contact your group leader, as they will work with our office on an updated roster for the Spring semester.

PULL-IN REQUESTS

In the event of a vacancy in their room, suite, or apartment, a remaining resident may pull in a new roommate of choice rather than having a new roommate assigned via Housing Selection or by the Office of Residence Life and Housing.

  • For those with a current vacancy (during Fall 2023) you may pull in a student who is on campus for Fall 2023 or returning for the Spring 2024 semester.
  • For those with a future vacancy (for Spring 2024), you may ONLY pull in students returning for the Spring 2024 semester.

To pull in a new roommate, the remaining resident must complete the pull-in section of the Room Change Request form found on the Housing Portal between October 18 and November 8.

OFF-CAMPUS LOTTERY

Students with less than six semesters of housing credit should not make any plans to live off-campus unless they have been released in writing from the residency requirement by the Office of Residence Life and Housing.

As a part of the Spring 2024 Housing Process, students who have earned at least four housing credits may choose to enter the Off-Campus Lottery. This indicates a desire to live off-campus prior to fulfilling the residency requirement. As the Office of Residence Life and Housing finalizes the number of students able to live on campus for the spring semester, they will use random selection to release the appropriate number of students.

All Spring 2024 processes will close on November 8 at 9 a.m. All updates about Housing Requests and Releases will be communicated by November 17.

If you have any questions regarding our Spring 2024 Housing Proceses or your residential experience, our office is always available at housing@wfu.edu or 336.758.5185 during business hours.
