NEW TOWN OF WAINWRIGHT WEBSITE
The Town of Wainwright launched their new website on Thursday, January 11th. The website has been developed to fit various browsers i.e. desktops, tablets, smartphones and to be accessible to all including those with screen readers.

Various new features have been added to the website including a meetings calendar which shows the Council agenda packages and minutes. A search button is front and center on the home page so that users can easily type in what they are looking for. The most searched items can also be found quickly via the quick links on the homepage. An updated Events Calendar is available for community groups to enter their events onto to promote their activities.

APPRENTICESHIP SERVICE GRANT
The Apprenticeship Service Grant is a hiring incentive program that aims to help mediate the labour shortage in the Construction and Manufacturing trades and set both the employer and apprentice up for success in the beginning of apprenticeship.

The registration process can be accessed through the website, Career Launcher Apprenticeships, which takes just five minutes to complete. Once approved, employers could receive up to $20,000 in federal funding grants. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2024.

The goal is to help bridge the gap in the trades industries and to help inform employers about funding available to them before they hire their new apprentice.
