Holiday Hours of Operation

Independent Study project raises awareness of Veterinary Social Work
Sarika Singodia, a Master of Social Work student who is currently completing her social work practicum with King’s Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Decolonization (EDID), is bringing new awareness to the little-known discipline of veterinary social work through her independent study project, Recognizing the Human-Animal Bond through Veterinary Social Work.

Congratulations go out to the King’s University College Basketball team which finished the first half of its season. The team won Seneca College’s tournament and was runner-up at the Credit River Cup. In the new year, the team has tournaments at Conestoga, Purdue University and Laurier Brantford. If you are interested in learning more about the team, please reach out to Coach Neyers.

Ivey HBA Program Info Session

Attention all second-year King's students! You can now apply to Ivey’s HBA program! Attend the info session on January 18 in the BMO Auditorium at Ivey Business School. Register for a session by logging into your Ivey account. If you have not started an application and don’t have an Ivey account yet, visit the Ivey website, select ‘Apply Now’ and create an account to access the 2024 HBA application. Exam season is underway at King's
Congratulations on nearly completing the fall term! Just a reminder of our adjusted hours of operation until December 22.

The King Student Life Centre will be open from 6 a.m. - 2 a.m. until December 21 and closes at 9 p.m. on December 22.

The library will be open this week Monday - Wednesday from 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. and on Thursday, December 22 from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Alert Western U app now includes SOS button
The Alert Western U app has been updated with a significant safety enhancement - An SOS button. While on campus, if you are faced with a medical issue, feel threatened or need help, the SOS button will connect you with Western’s security and emergency response team. The Alert Western U app is available for all King's students via your UWO email.

Building Bridges Podcast
In the second episode of the Building Bridges podcast "Fueling Minds: Food Insecurity on University Campuses," Emily Carrothers, King's Campus and Community Social Worker, and host Maria Vargas, a second-year student in King’s CYS program, engaged in conversation about the challenges of food insecurity and the diverse experiences that students may encounter with it. The Building Bridges Podcast is a collaboration between the King's Office of EDID and Brescia.

On Christmas Eve, we will celebrate Eucharist at 7 p.m. On Christmas Day, we will celebrate Eucharist at 10 a.m.
Liturgies
Please note that December 10 marked the last Sunday 5 p.m. Mass and community meal for the first term. We will continue to have Sunday 10 a.m. Mass. 5 p.m. Mass will resume on January 14, 2024. Our daily masses will resume until January 11, 2024 (except for 7 p.m. Mass on January 2 and 9, 2024).
