Registration is now open for the Governor’s Inaugural Mentored Deer Hunt that will take place during the new antlerless rifle season on October 6-8! Selected participants will spend the weekend with the best mentors our organizations have to offer. Besides getting to go afield with a mentor and hunt deer, participants will be instructed on how hunting fits into conservation, hunting strategy, deer biology, behavior and senses, hunting etiquette, shot placement, after the shot, gun safety, and firearm handling. Preference will be given to applicants who have never been hunting, or those who have never harvested a deer.
