Making the move from CCM to FM+
Many family physicians have been claiming Comprehensive Care Management (CCM) tariffs for several years. FM+ includes disease cluster payments that will replace these CCM tariffs. It is important to plan ahead to determine the best timing for adopting FM+ disease clusters based on your annual CCM claim window.
We’ve created a guide on Migrating from CCM to FM+ with information on how to submit your final CCM claim and begin claiming FM+ tariffs.
Claiming for indirect clinical services
In addition to panel payments, family physicians will be able to claim up to three hours per week of indirect clinical services. These payments are based on panel size, and don’t require new or additional tracking of your administrative time.
Doctors Manitoba advocated for remuneration for clinical time because administrative tasks have become more complex and demanding. This remuneration recognizes the various indirect tasks physicians provide to support patient care, such as documentation, reviewing results, preparing referrals and requisitions, and care coordination among others.
See details, including claim instructions and examples in the Indirect Clinical Services Guide.
Newborn Enrollment guidance
Under FM+, family physicians will receive a one-time enrollment payment when adding a newborn/infant into their practice. This payment recognizes the additional and detailed work involved with assuming care for a patient under the age of two. In April 2024, you can claim this one-time enrollment payment for all patients under 24 months of age already on your panel. Learn more about claiming this tariff in our Newborn Enrollment Guide.
