Community Cooperation

Our community. Our lives.

We LOVE volunteers, and most projects and programs depend on them. Volunteering strengthens community connections, and through volunteering, people build relationships, learn from each other, and feel more connected to the community as a whole.

Volunteerism, and fostering a collaborative culture, has become integral to our mission, and together, we are building a more equitable and vibrant community, for current and future generations.

Two recent events beautifully showcased the power of volunteerism and reciprocity: the February 11th Venta, a fundraiser which was organized by local parents and students, and the March 3 Gala and Auction, which was a community-wide collaboration. All involved believe deeply in the value of opportunities through education--volunteers, donors, and supporters alike. It truly takes a village!

Las Hermanas Auction and Gala, 2024

It was a glorious night of celebration as we gathered in the beautiful gardens of Ann Hatfield Merritt and Chris Kellogg. Las Hermanas member and volunteer, Mariana Salas of Casa Croma, donated her extraordinary design and organizational talents to make this event a stunningly beautiful occasion. Eduardo and Mariana of Delizia delivered a signature Las Hermanas cocktail and beautifully presented meal, and we all enjoyed socializing during the cocktail hour and at our tables, Dallas Celecia gamely stepped in as our auctioneer, with great support from Marcie Spahi. She hit it out of the park! Thanks so much, Dallas and Marcie. Big thanks to all our volunteers, students, teachers, and parents for pitching in to make this event happen. And most of all, thank you to all who attended, who donated and bid on items, (including those who donated and made bids for our online auction,) and who pledged your financial support. Without the funds we raised, we couldn’t continue our programs. YOU make it all possible!

Socializing with Las Hermanas

We gathered at the restaurant at Tres Santos for our Las Hermanas luncheon recently, and followed it up with a trip across the street to our jewelry boutique for a little retail therapy. The inventory there changes almost daily, so be sure to make a stop here a regular occurrence when you're running errands.
