Good-bye January ...Welcome February... 

Please be sure to check out the Taste of India information as we are still seeking individuals to be a part of the fashion show with students, parents and teachers participating. We will be providing the garments for those who participate and would like to finalize our counts including sizes and types of clothing by no later than next week Wednesday.  

Groundhog Day is Friday, and we sure hope that the Groundhog predicts a quick turnaround to Springtime. It is also an early release day for students with an 11:30 a.m. dismissal.

Friday, February 2, 2024, is an 11:30 a.m. early dismissal for all students in grades K-8.

A Taste of India will be coming to Rondout the week of February 26th. We will be hosting two days of hand-on activities and field trips on Tuesday 2/27 and Wednesday 2/28.

Festivities include tastings, art projects, a fashion show, dance party and dance demonstrations. A schedule of activities will be shared with parents who will be invited to join us for some of the activities both as volunteers and participants. It should be an exciting and enriching learning experience. We hope to see you at one or more of the activities open to parents.

We are working on finalizing activities, volunteers and demonstrations. One key activity designed for volunteers is the Fashion Show. If you or your child have an interest in participating in the Fashion Show, please sign up below by February 1st. The photos below highlight just a few of the items that will be featured.

Clothing and assistance in draping sari's etc. for the show will be provided by expert volunteers. There are various types of clothing styles that will be included as each region of India has their own unique items/ patterns/handiwork. Signing up by the February 1st deadline is essential in order for us prepare the clothing for the show.

The 8th grade World of Work program provides our 8th graders with opportunities to explore careers through field trips into the business, entertainment, financial, and technology worlds of work. If you would like to work with us to host a visit within your “World of Work” or if you have a connection to a host site, please let us know below.

2024 SPELLING BEE CHAMPION

Aarna N. !!!

Congratulations to this year’s Spelling Bee Champion, 5th Aarna N. and 5th Brynlee V. as our runner up. Aarna will move on to the Final Local Spelling Bee which will take place on February 12th at 6pm. Let’s all wish Aarna luck. 

Thank you to all of our Rondout spellers for making our 2024 Spelling Bee a success! Congratulations to everyone! Looking forward to next year!

The Public Works Village Department is sponsoring the USAgain “Tree Machine”. They will plant a tree for every filled "Tree Machine". We will be able to keep track of our progress on an individual dashboard which will calculate the impact of our donations.  The collection bin is at the northwest corner of the staff parking lot. Please do not leave items outside of the bin and honor the collection guidelines. Thank you in advance for supporting the efforts of our students to support the future of our planet.

Starting Kindergarten August 2024

Do you have a pre-schooler ready to start kindergarten next year? Will your child turn 5 before September 1, 2024?

Please contact the office to be added to next year's kindergarten class list. We ask that you share this request with neighbors in the district who have pre-schoolers.

Kindergarten Orientation and Registration will take place on Tuesday April 9, 2024.
