Classical Music Chicago to receive

$20,000 grant from the

National Endowment for the Arts

Classical Music Chicago is pleased to announce that we have been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a $20,000 grant through the Grants for Arts Projects program. This grant is in support of the Dame Myra Hess Concerts, Rush Hour Concerts and Concerts for Wellbeing and Rejuvenation.

RUSH HOUR CONCERTS

Rush Hour Concerts will return on June 4 and will continue through August 20, 2024. All concerts are at St. James Cathedral (65 E Huron) on Tuesdays at 5:45 pm. Pre-concert talks will be at 5:15 pm before each concert. Concert details will be released in April.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

"The mission of the Dame Myra Hess Concert series is so important--to offer music by some of the best young musicians to everyone for free--falls right with my values that classical music is for everyone. It means so much to be a part of this series, and share music with everyone."

-Richard Brasseale, saxophonist

Dame Myra Hess artist, January 24, 2024
