It’s the beginning of a presidential election year and a lot of activists are fired up. But for some reason, when you hear “This is the most important election of our lives!” or “We have to hit the ground running!” you start Googling how to move to New Zealand. And doom scrolling yet another misguided article about the inevitability of a Trump Dictatorship™ doesn’t motivate you. It paralyzes you. If Trump is inevitable, what can I – one person – do? We all know action is the antidote to anxiety and yet sometimes the daunting task in front of us just feels like too much.

But that's fixable; all it takes is for new people to get into politics and run for something!

Sure, that sounds like an easy-for-you-to-say situation, but it's true! If you care about issues in your community and want to help, you truly can make a difference by running for local office. And to celebrate this major potential for change, there's National Run for Office Day! Field Team 6 is proud to partner with Run For Something to promote this game-changing day.
