Eric Schmidt

August 7, 1937 - March 4, 2024

Members and friends, last week we shared with you the tragic news that our brother, Eric Schmidt, has died. Today we share the information for his service and his obituary.

First, to read Eric's obituary, click here.

The Celebration of Life service will take place this coming Friday afternoon at 2pm, with a reception in the Fellowship Hall to follow.

We continue to pray for Louise, their sons Dan, Donald, and David, and their many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as they face this loss. May they find hope and strength, remembering our Lord's victory over death. May we be inspired by the memory of Eric's generous and joyful spirit.

Wednesdays in Lent

We're inviting the whole congregation to take part in preparing our Lenten Soup Suppers!

If you have a favorite soup, we hope you'll share it! If you're not as much of a cook, but can provide bread or drinks, that's great! We'll also need assistance with setup and cleanup.

Family Promise starts this Sunday!

A note from our February Family Promise Guests:

Thank You So Much! for hosting our family.

We are truly grateful for all of the kindness and hospitality we were shown here. All of the delicious food and wonderful conversations will be treasured in our hearts forever. Sincerely, the A.C.E. Family

If you'd like to take part in the ministry that cared for this family, join us for our Family Promise week, March 17-24!

We have opportunities for setup, hosting dinner, evening fellowship time, staying overnight, and taking things down at the end of the week.

*Our biggest need right now is overnight hosts*

Thank you to everyone who has taken an envelope so far! As of today, we have received $5,708 in envelope returns, an additional $1,000 grant, and a $1,000 gift, for a total of $7,708!

Property Workday - March 16 at 9am

Mark your calendars for our annual Property Workday! Join us the morning of Saturday, March 16, to lay pine straw, trim bushes, and other outdoor tasks,so that our property is ready to reflect the beauty of Easter!

Contact Walker Stockley with any questions.

Come Share Your Story with Us!

Our campus ministry (WELCM) students invite you to share your knowledge and life experiences with them. We hope to begin a “Life Lessons” series in which Grace members can talk about their life, career, faith, or identity journeys, their experiences with other cultures or global missions, or practical skills such as money management, renting apartments, job interviews, etc.

If you have a topic or experience you would enjoy sharing with students and discussing for about 15-20 minutes at an evening meeting, please reach out to our Campus Minister, Pastor Hahn at cm@welcm.org. Please provide your name and contact information and a description of your topic and what you would like to share. We hope you will volunteer. It is a tremendous opportunity to meet our next generation of leaders and share the things we wish someone had told us earlier.

The WELCM Committee

Seniors @Grace

Seniors @Grace will welcome our new campus minister on the 3rd Thursday of March. Pastor Hahn will join us on March 21st to talk about the Campus Ministry program and share some interesting details about his life journey.  We will meet at the usual time 11:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall with lunch at noon.  We are having another traditional “church lunch” from our Grace cookbooks.

Let Annie Laurie Wheat know by Tuesday March 19 if you can come. (893 517-0626 or wheatannielaurie@gmail.com).

All are welcome to come and share food and

fellowship with Pastor Hahn.
