ARIZONA FUN FACTS

In 1929, Dwight and Maie Heard founded The Heard Museum as a way to share their extensive collection of American Indian artifacts and art. Almost 100 years later, the museum has grown to more than eight times its original size and features rotating shows, as well as their poignant signature exhibits. The stories of Native peoples of the Southwest are told in their own words and brings to light many unknown facts in U.S. history.

The museum's substantial collections include Katsina (Kachina) dolls, baskets, pottery, textiles, jewelry and much more, dating from the 1800's to modern day.

The Heard Museum is located at 2301 N. Central Avenue, less than 2 miles away from the Phoenix Convention Center and conveniently accessible from the Light Rail.
