Real Simple magazine shares home trends for 2024

Are you interested in home renovations but don't want to overprice your home in this market? We found an article that might interest you. It suggests the average American will spend over $5,600 next year on home renovations. OpenDoor's 2024 Home Decor Report suggests most homebuyers and renters agree that painting is the most common home improvement project, while kitchen renovations are at the higher end and changing out decor is common as well.

"Painting a room was the highest priority home renovation listed in the survey, but it was also chosen as the most affordable. According to Opendoor’s 2024 Home Decor Report, the top home colors are (in order of popularity):

Off-white
Light gray
Beige

So, we can expect these to show up quite a bit in renovation projects next year. “These colors can provide a sense of calm for those living in (and visiting) a home. Traditional neutrals offer a blank slate for home shoppers to easily envision their style.”

According to the survey, other home items that will be upgraded include lighting fixtures, new flooring, kitchen cabinets or countertops, and furniture.
