You are invited to join us on Friday, October 13th, as we continue our Homecoming tradition! We are excited to welcome students, alumni, parents, grandparents, families, faculty, and friends to Covenant's campus for an afternoon of food, fun, and games. Events include a Pep Rally, Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer games, and a Girls Varsity Volleyball game! All proceeds support the Jade Williamson Memorial Scholarship here at CCA, which honors the life of Jade Williamson by generously blessing a CCA student in need each year.

Seven years ago, the Covenant community experienced the devastating loss of one of our own precious students. Adored by her teachers and classmates alike, Jade Williamson was full of life and joy as she prepared to begin kindergarten in the fall of 2016. A sudden illness, just shy of her 5th birthday, tragically took Jade's life and left her family and loved ones shattered. Our community grieved with the Williamsons, prayed together, and celebrated Jade’s short life, while promising never to forget her beautiful spirit. Jade was a gift to us all and we will always join with Adam, Jenny and Jacob (Gr. 10) in keeping her memory alive. God has been faithful and true and the Williamson family will attest to the many ways that God has used this tragedy, bringing beauty out of ashes. If you have never had the chance, we encourage you to visit Jade’s Garden, a beautifully renovated memorial courtyard for our Early Childhood students. 

Shortly after Jade’s passing, Jenny and Adam established the Jade Williamson Memorial Scholarship in Jade’s honor and we began what will continue to be an annual tradition of Playing for Jade! In Jade’s honor we will raise funds for the scholarship through the sale of Play for Jade wristbands at our Homecoming games on October 14th. All proceeds will contribute to the memorial scholarship, which blesses a CCA student in need each year. We hope you will join us as we celebrate Jade’s legacy.

The Student Activities Council is pleased to announce Spirit Week in preparation for Homecoming! 

Tuesday, Oct. 10th*: Out of this World (anything space-related)

Wednesday, Oct. 11th*: Sandler vs. Glamour (Think Adam Sandler: what you might wear at home vs. what a celebrity might wear on the red carpet)

Thursday, Oct. 12th*: Barbie vs. Oppenheimer (dress as Barbie or Oppenheimer)

Friday, Oct. 13th: Cougar Spirit Day (CCA Jerseys, CCA Blue & Gold clothing)

House points will be awarded for your participation. Be on the lookout for a separate email from Mr. Mac with more details!

Students in grades 5-6 and all USLR students will be attending CCA's Pep Rally at 2pm on Friday, October 13th. Students are encouraged to come wearing their CCA Spirit Wear or school colors to show support for our Cougars in all their Homecoming games!

All three varsity soccer and volleyball teams will play on Friday, October 13th with staggering starting times.

Girls Varsity Soccer will play on the track field starting at 3:30pm

Boys Varsity Soccer will play on the front field starting at 4:00pm

Girls Varsity Volleyball will play in the PAAC starting at 5:30pm

Please come and cheer on our Varsity teams! Visit the concession tables at the fields or in the PAAC courtyard to support our Play for Jade Scholarship! There will be fun for all ages - watching soccer and volleyball games, face painting, pictures with Nikos, CCA Spirit gear, concession stands, and more!

All snacks, drinks, and activities will cost one ticket. Tickets are $1/each and can be purchased at the ticket table on the back fields or in the PAAC courtyard at Homecoming. "Play for Jade" wristbands will be available for purchase for five tickets (or $5), with all proceeds going to the Jade Williamson Scholarship Fund (see description above). Donations for the scholarship are also welcome.

On Saturday, Oct. 14th RS students will have their Night in the City themed Homecoming Dance from 7-9:30pm in the PAAC. Cost is $25/person and permission slips are required to attend. Soft soled shoes are acceptable for the dance floor; high heeled shoes must come off prior to entering the PAAC. Permissions slips will be sent out on Monday and must be turned in to Mrs. Curtis' office by Friday, October 6th!
