Happy New Year! As we begin 2024, we thought this was an appropriate thought from Wilbur Wright. Wright, who worked with his brother Orville to create the first successful airplane, said this about predicting the future:

"I confess that, in 1901, I said to my brother Orville that men would not fly for 50 years. Two years later, we were making flights. This demonstration of my inability as a prophet gave me such a shock that I have ever since refrained from all prediction."

It’s a good reminder, especially after a year where nearly every Wall Street prognosticator predicted a recession that never emerged.

• There is a $20 million dinosaur skeleton for sale in London. Billed as a juvenile T-Rex, not everyone agrees with the classification. It will be interesting to see who buys “Chomper,” discovered in Montana about 5 years ago.
