Employment and Professional Opportunities

Hello Partner Programs,

The tutoring services team at AATC is excited that tutoring is beginning October 8th this quarter. We’re in full swing and still hiring many positions for this quarter - especially drop-in tutoring for STEM. Additionally our writing tutor application has opened for folks interested in becoming a writing tutor next quarter.

Please share with any students or student groups who you feel may be interested in a role with AATC. Not only are our tutoring positions highly sought-after because they are challenging and well-paying, but also because tutoring your peers is fulfilling, rewarding work. Our tutors act as guides, meeting the student where they are at. Thus, we are looking for tutors with patience, communication skills, and the ability to work in a variety of drop-in and individual tutoring sessions.

To apply students should go to our website and use the link to apply for a position. There is a flyer attached with more information.

My name is Katherine Menendez and I am the coordinator for the Center for Regional Change (CRC) Ted Bradshaw Student Engaged Scholar program. I spent many hours during my undergrad at CCLASS, so I am aware of the resource hub the center provides and would love to share this information for you to possibly promote!

The Ted Bradshaw Engaged Student Scholars Program's mission aims to create opportunities for students to develop their community-based research, strengthen skills, get hands-on experience and more. It is open to all UCD undergraduate and graduate students and provides an opportunity for selected Scholars to complete a six-month internship focused on social and/or environmental justice with a campus or community partner organization. It would be great if you could share this resource to students who would benefit from the program!

The promotional flyer is attached and more information about the program on our webpage here.

At HOPE, we aim to:

a. provide university students in Davis with opportunities to engage and advocate for unhoused and/or low-income individuals

b. empower local unhoused individuals by cultivating a supportive and judgment-free environment

c. destigmatize homelessness by educating members of the greater Davis community on how to advocate for unhoused/low-income individuals

Some volunteer opportunities in HOPE include:

-Volunteering at local shelters and transitional housing around Yolo County

-Volunteering at our club’s Showers Program, a program in which we host free weekly showers open to the public at a campus locker room

-Hosting various community events, such as our annual free haircuts event (Fresh Cuts Fresh Starts), our annual HOPE Mobility Fair to provide transportation resources, our annual Benefit Concert, and other events to further provide resources to community members

-Distributing refreshments and COVID-related health supplies to those living outside through street outreach

As a member of HOPE, you will have the opportunity to plan out and participate in our events while gaining experience in service and advocacy for unhoused individuals. Additionally, you will be able to implement new projects throughout the year that you believe will help our community members.
