KODIAK WEEKLY BULLETIN

Greetings Kodiaks!

A huge thank you to Dr. Eric Klaphake, the head veterinarian at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, for giving students in Lower, Middle, and Upper School a behind-the-scenes look at caring for the smallest to the largest of animals using photos and videos. Dr. Klaphake was the first speaker in our Visiting Scholar Series.

Scholarship and Auxiliary Program Support (Deadline Feb. 5)

CSS wants to support all families, and we are proud to partner with the CHE scholarship program to add an additional level of financial support. We encourage all parents and guardians to complete the form below to help them know our students' needs and interests. We encourage you to mention any/all programs you are considering participating in so the amount is accurate for the coming year. They have generously offered scholarships to families that qualify to cover any of our program offerings, including Kodiak Athletics. This is separate and in addition to our financial aid indexed tuition program. We encourage your participation if you haven't already.

Announcing Major Dates Calendar

Please take note of changes to next years academic calendar. CSS is announcing an earlier start to the school year (Aug. 15) to adhere to CDE recommendations for 170 student learning days. Also, beginning next year we will no longer have late starts on Wednesday mornings; school begins at 8 a.m. each day.

Most of our short weeks with students are scheduled so that our families can have longer weekends and breaks. We aligned non-student contact days better across each division so there are more commonalities than differences. Our updated calendar has additional professional development days for our faculty to evaluate and improve instructional practices.
