AV Tech Task Force Update
Once again, those near and far care deeply about SAKLC as evidenced by your participation in the Technology Survey! We were grateful to receive responses from over 100 individuals! On behalf of the Task Force, thank you for your time and thoughts. The next step is to compile this information and incorporate it into our final recommendations. Our plan is to complete the proposal and present it to the church leadership in late October. We could not have done this without you. There is still more to do but we are on the home stretch. Stay tuned!

I warn you; you'll likely not find the following joke as funny as I do. As my wife frequently points out, that's true of most - if not all - of my jokes.
Upcoming Christian Education Series
How Lutherans Interpret the Bible
| |
How Lutherans Interpret the Bible “invites you to explore seven important questions about Lutherans and the Bible. The class will not prescribe ‘the Lutheran way’ to read the Bible nor will it dismiss the way you may have come to understand the Bible. Instead, the class will present a variety of Lutheran perspectives for interpreting the Bible, through which you will discover answers to questions you have always had about the Bible.” Come with an open heart and an open mind.
Taught by Rev. Kenneth Blyth using video and handout materials from SELECT Learning presented by Dr. Mark Allan Powell, a Lutheran pastor and Bible professor at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, and a prolific and popular author.
When: Thursdays, for seven weeks, October 5 - November 16, from 2:00pm-3:30pm.

Thank You from Refugee Ministry!
The Refugee Ministry had a great event on Saturday the 10th! Haitians gathered at a church to receive food, cleaning supplies, clothing, personal items, and personal hygiene products from our ministry. In addition, they were also able to go to dental clinics and health clinics run by Lutheran Services of Florida. It was a great day. Many people received what they needed thanks to our SAKLC. All monetary donations given are put to good use, as you can see by the pictures. We are incredibly grateful that this congregation feels supports this important mission.
The Refugee Ministry is in need of queen, twin, and full beds. There is family of seven coming on September 19 in need of these items. Please contact the church if you have any of these items to donate.
Thank You from St. Paul Lutheran Church

Pastor Ken's Weekly Bible Study
Each week, throughout the year, Pr. Ken leads a Bible study on Wednesday mornings, from 11:00am-noon via zoom. If you wish to join in-person, please let Pastor know in advance. The class discusses the Scripture texts assigned for the forthcoming Sunday worship services. Pr. Ken shares a calendar month of handouts in advance, so that participants can look ahead, and read the comments of Lutheran scholars prior to each session. Please reach out to him at pastor@saklc.com so he can share the materials with you beforehand. Each week there is a good mix of lay people, and retired pastors, with each group bringing their unique perspectives on life and Scripture – it’s a fun group!
