Join PON's Parent Outreach Campaign
and Latino Family Summit
Dear PON Members and Partners:

I am delighted to invite you to attend our upcoming Latino Family Summit! We will be celebrating Latin American culture and do a soft launch of our parent outreach and capacity building campaign. Our campaign goal is two-fold: to increase parent awareness on the importance of periodically conducting socioemotional and academic wellness check ups with their children, and to look beyond report cards to monitor student learning and progress.

We will leverage the network and our partners to reach 1,000 families per year with our message and resources and we'll begin our work at the Latino Family Summit where we'll gather with about 150 participants. The workshops will feature many of the services in education (UPK - 12th grade), mental health, and immigration that the network provides to families across Los Angeles County. The panels will feature the academic and professional journeys of children from PON parent leaders who are in their own way, making history and paving the way for others to thrive.

Do you have families that would benefit learning about socioemotional and academic wellness check ups or want to learn about free resources available to support reading, math, or the college admission process? If yes, please invite them to join us at the event or contact us to coordinate a presentation.

We look forward to working and growing with you,
Araceli Simeón

Thank You for Supporting PON's Work
PON continues to grow to meet the needs of students and families. We appreciate your interest in our work and invite you to team up with us through a financial contribution.

Please consider sponsoring the Latino Family Summit. You can help pay for community members to attend the September summit at a cost of about $100 to host a participant.
FINANCIAL

PON has been successful in educating and informing parents on how to be more effective advocates for their children in school. We plan to continue this work through our outreach and capacity building campaign but need your help.

We are currently seeking funding to hire a communications expert and an outreach coordinator and I’d welcome the opportunity to talk about how your donation can support this important work.
TIME, VENUES, SERVICES

  • Do you offer services to support families or children?
  • Do you have a venue to host workshops or a computer lab to help parent check their children's online portals?
  • Do you have time to volunteer and help families monitor learning and overall child development?
