Business Spotlight: Zeskind's Hardware & Millwork - Q&A

Approaching their 100^th anniversary in business, Zeskind’s Hardware and Millwork continues to expand from the Baltimore City corner hardware store established in 1925 by Sam Zeskind into a leading manufacturer and supplier of millwork products throughout the DC/NOVA/MD region. With three locations and recent acquisitions, we asked Rick Miller, who took over the fourth-generation family-owned business from his parents, the following questions:

What can you tell us about Zeskind’s most recent growth and acquisitions?

In 2020, we expanded our physical locations, inventory and custom capabilities by acquiring Lamar and Wallace in Landover, MD. With a newly established showroom located near Annapolis in 2019, this allowed us to better serve our growing customer base throughout the Baltimore and DC areas. Earlier this year, we had an opportunity to acquire Clement Hardware and relocated our Arnold showroom to Severna Park.

How is this new showroom different from your other locations?

With Zeskind’s legacy business being in retail hardware, this exciting opening allowed us to combine our Zeskind’s Door and Window Showroom with a retail hardware store and the decorative/architectural hardware displays for which Clement Hardware was well known. The new location, paying homage to its location in Severna Park, is now “Park Hardware.” The exterior and interior were remodeled to showcase all our product offerings. Over the past 15 years we’ve grown into one of Maryland’s leading manufacturer and wholesale distributors of windows, doors and custom millwork products. We now have three locations that include the original store still serving Baltimore City, our new showroom and retail store in Severna Park, and the manufacturing facility, offices and showroom in Landover.

What products are on display at PARK HARDWARE?

You’ll find hardware, windows, doors and siding on display at our new location in Severna Park. Designers, builders, architects and homeowners will find major brands such as Baldwin, Emtek, Rocky Mountain, and Top Knobs hardware on display. The door and window sections feature major brands such as Therma-Tru, Masonite, Jeld-Wen, Simpson, and Andersen. Mouldings and LP SmartSiding are also among our product offerings and on display.

GADD Monthly Networking Breakfast (MEMBERS Only)

Members are invited to an early morning networking hour the third Thursday of each month from 7:30-8:30a.m. at the Market House. Arrive a few minutes early to purchase a coffee and breakfast bite at Rise Up, located inside the Market House. Be ready at 7:30am to connect and collaborate.

GADD Monthly Networking Happy Hour (MEMBERS Only)

Date: First Thursday of each month - Upcoming Dates: October 5, December 7 (*Note - this event will not be held on November 2nd as that is the date of our annual Membership Drive)

Zeskind's/Park Hardware Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting

Location: 1500-A Ritchie Hwy., Severna Park, MD 21146

Time: 5:00pm

Cost: Free

Members are invited to attend the Zeskind's/Park Hardware Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting. There will be food trucks with free vouchers for the first 100 guests to visit the Park Hardware showroom, on-site brand demonstrations, live music, and lots of giveaways.

Bright Light Annapolis CEU Event & Cocktail Hour
