Spiritual Theme: Amazing Race
Theme Song: By Faith
Theme Verse: 1 Corinthians 9:24 & 25 "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."
School Pictures
School picture days are scheduled for next week Wednesday and Thursday, September 13 and 14. Your child(ren) will be taking their order envelope home today. Please return one envelope and payment per child on or before picture day. The order forms are the same as last year. Please read them over carefully and note that "Package C" DOES NOT include a class composite.

For children with glasses:
If you have concerns about glass glare, please note that we will try our hardest to minimize glass glare to the best of our ability but the only way to completely avoid glass glare is to remove lenses from your child's frames.

A schedule will be sent out early next week. If you have any questions you can contact, Alysa Reitsma, at 712-441-7335.
Save the Date for the school year kick-off party:
Join us to kickoff the school year in style as we host a freewill donation pulled pork meal on Saturday, September 9th from 5:00-7:00. Bring the kids for unlimited carnival games run by the 7th/8th grade students on the OCCS playground from 5:30-7:30 with the purchase of a $10 wristband. Stay late for our late night drive in movie, G-Force, beginning around 8:00. All proceeds from the event go towards middle school events this year.
Important: The Society Meeting will be Monday, September 11 at 7pm:
Join us September 11 at 7:00 for our annual society meeting. Election of new board members will take place and the budget will be presented. Absentee ballots will be accepted for board nominees, and can be picked up in the school office and given to Mr. Alons or a board member before the meeting time.
