New Sask Lotteries website

For nearly 50 years, Sask Lotteries has provided support to more than 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups in Saskatchewan.


Log on to the new sasklotteries.ca for an improved fully dynamic and optimized experience. The Sask Lotteries story and its beneficiaries will shine through with prominent placement, as well as the stories of individuals who have had recent wins on draw based and instant win tickets.

New youth volunteer engagement opportunities

Two new initiatives are encouraging Saskatchewan students to volunteer for local organizations. A new high school "volunteerism" credit announced this month will allow high schoolers to earn an elective credit through volunteering. For post-secondary students, the University of Regina's new Student Volunteer Centre aims to connect students with volunteer placements in the community. Local organizations may submit a volunteer request form. Read more

SK cities awarded for cultural planning

The cities of Prince Albert, Yorkton and Moose Jaw received Planning for Equitable and Inclusive Cities and Human Settlements Awards for cultural planning projects. The three projects, all of which received funding from the SaskCulture Community Cultural Engagement and Planning grant, were chosen for how they demonstrated that culture, tradition, and identity can be incorporated into inclusive and diverse planning and projects. Imagine Canada's four-day work week experience

Almost a year into their four-day work week pilot project, an article by Imagine Canada reports that the initiative has resulted in overall consistent productivity, improved staff morale and well-being, and it has been a major factor in the organization retaining staff this year. Imagine Canada has decided to extend the pilot for the next year before another review, and continue to collect data through 48 different well-being and performance metrics. Read more

Organizations are only as strong as the people who contribute their time into seeing them grow. However, at some point, these leaders move on — they may retire, or move on to other opportunities. By having a clear and concise succession plan, organizations can take some of the uncertainty out of retirements and resignations. Young Canada Works: How to Submit a Successful Funding Application (Canadian Museums Association)

Are you planning to apply for Young Canada Works Heritage funding for 2024-2025? This information session will cover the application process, eligible positions, supervision strategies, amount of funding available, differences between the two Heritage streams and more.

Blanket Exercise (Rivers West District for Sport, Culture & Recreation)

The Blanket Exercise is based on using Indigenous methodologies and the goal is to build understanding about our shared history as Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada by walking through pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization and resistance. By engaging on an emotional and intellectual level, the Blanket Exercise effectively educates and increases empathy.

Archaeology and Saskatchewan Museums - Collections, Interpretations, and Ethics (Museums Association of Saskatchewan)

This two-day course, offered in partnership with the Saskatchewan Archaeological Society, will provide participants with the information and skills they need for the proper curation and management of archaeological materials in Saskatchewan museums.

Connecting to the land inspires Indigenous artist's practice

Thanks to her connection to land-based experiences, Marcy Friesen, Wanuskewin’s first artist-in-residence, has changed the way she approaches her art practice.


Her experience as Artist-in-Residence, which ran from July to August, allowed Friesen to learn more about her Swampy Cree heritage and increased her connection to her culture. Read more
