Talley Loop Rehabilitation & RM 967 Projects Open House

Garlic Creek Amenity Center

The City of Buda is hosting an open house Monday, Dec. 4 to share preliminary plans for the Talley Loop & RM 967 projects. Join us anytime from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Garlic Creek Amenity Center to learn more and share your feedback! The materials shared at the in-person open house will also be available online at BudaBonds.com

Upcoming Meetings: Buda Bond Oversight Committee (BBOC)

There will be no BBOC meeting held in December in observance of the upcoming holidays. The BBOC will hold their next meeting on Monday, Jan. 15 at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. BBOC meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to join us to learn more about the 2021 Buda Bonds projects!

Project Updates and Milestones

Garison Park

The Chaparral survey crew will be at the Garison Park property collecting survey, topographic, tree survey, and other data. Be aware of crew members along Garison Road, Garison Park, near the creek, and both sides of the rail during this time. Survey work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023.

Main Street East

The City of Buda is working towards finalizing the preliminary design of the Main Street East project between IH-35 and Fire Cracker Drive. The design team is working with Kimley-Horn to coordinate, and line-up proposed improvements to Main Street east of Fire Cracker Drive.

The Buda Bond Oversight Committee (BBOC) reviewed the schematic design on Nov. 20, 2023. Property owners in the area will be contacted in early 2024 to discuss and review the proposed project.

Middle Creek Drive

Based on the data that was collected last month, K Friese + Associates developed a recommendation to rehabilitate Middle Creek Drive. The recommendation includes installing a perforated pipe along the roadway to intercept the groundwater and re-direct the water to nearby stormwater inlets.

K Friese + Associates will present the recommendations to the Whispering Hollow neighborhood in January 2024.

We have a dedicated team working diligently to bring the $89.66 million Buda Bonds Projects to life. We are delighted to show you the remarkable individuals who make up the Buda Bonds Oversight Committee! For several months, we will shine a spotlight on a different team member and their unique journey. Get to know the people who represent Buda's interests and are making an impact in the community.

Meet Betsy Urban

In addition to her role in the Buda Bonds Oversight Committee, Betsy is the treasurer for the Buda Economic Council. While she learns about the progress of the Buda Bonds Program and works with fellow committee members, she ensures that the goals of the Economic Council are represented in the decision-making process.

Betsy has a history with Buda that goes back to 1948, the year she was born. She would visit her grandparents and has been coming to Buda since, where she enjoys going to events at the parks. Betsy is a grandmother, mother, wife, and an active volunteer in her community. In her free time, she’s a rancher and takes care of the land in the area.
