CUE THE MUSIC

Ellis Paul at the Flying Goose.

Ellis Paul doesn’t just write songs; he’s a guitar-carrying reporter who covers the human condition and details the hopes, loves, losses of those he observes, turning their stories into luminous pieces of music that get under your skin and into your bloodstream. And much like the artists who have influenced him, everyone from Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to the singer-songwriter who is undoubtedly his greatest inspiration, Woody Guthrie, Paul weaves deeply personal experiences with social issues and renders them as provocative works that are as timely as they are timeless.

She is also a published poet, a producer, and an educator extraordinaire. Lewis — who studied vocal improvisation with Bobby McFerrin, guitar technique with Alex DeGrassi and Guy van Duser, and songwriting with Rosanne Cash and Cris Williamson — has been a featured performer on NPR’s Mountain Stage program, as well as at the Kennedy Center. CURIOUS FACT

NH legislators are considering a bill to officially declare the correct pronunciation of our state Capitol. It’s “KON-kerd” not “Kon-KORD”.   Presidential candidates would be well served to pay attention to such things prior to asking for our votes.

UNTIL NEXT WEEK

Enjoy these crispy Autumn days, before the snow flies. Cheers!
