This week's Torah portion, Lech Lecha, Genesis 12:1–17:27, introduces us to Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, Ishmael and Isaac. These key personalities in the biblical history of the Jewish and Arab nations are playing out their roles still today, in yet another cycle of hostilities.

End times prophecies, activated by dire predictions of world wide conflict provoked by battles waging on the ground and in the media, captivate our attention so that we can lose focus of the nearly global atrocity of child torture and death from abortion numbering in the billions, according to the Abortion Clock.

Every life is precious, sacred, and miraculous. As religious, political, and media wars claim their victims, let us keep in mind the most vulnerable human beings whose only voice is our own.
