The Appeal of the Urban Forest

As the year end approaches, we must join the chorus of beneficial and vital organizations asking for the financial support of our friends in and around the community. Newport would not be the same without its trees.

Thanks to our supporters, we were able to meet all of our goals for 2023:

Purchased and planted over 200 trees in Newport, including 100 new trees in Miantonomi Park

Provided care for 215 public trees in our community

Provided volunteer opportunities totaling over 330 service hours

Propagated 115 progeny from 14 of the community's most iconic trees

Delivered tree-focused programming to 550 youth in Newport's public and summer schools

To continue this work we need your support. We cannot plant and care for our shared forest without you. Please consider a contribution to the Newport Tree Conservancy and join us in our mission to plant for the future.

Miantonomi is 100 Trees Richer!

We are happy to announce that with the help of dedicated volunteers and staff, NTC has successfully planted 100 new native trees in Miantonomi Park. This sprawling urban forest is the largest in the city of Newport and a treasured resource for the community.

Vital work is done every day by people like you who come together to support our mission - caring for the trees for the enjoyment of current and future generations. We would like to thank the individuals who assisted as well as the following groups: the City of Newport, Rogers High School, East Bay Met School, Pell Elementary, FabNewport, Audubon Society of Rhode Island, City Green Foundation, Stanley Tree Service, Citizens, and Amica.

Many Thanks This Fall

Newport Tree Conservancy is partnering with T.J. Brown to provide tree planting services, allowing us to plant more trees for Newport residents participating in our Free Fall Tree Program.

With their assistance, we will be able to plant 16 of the 40 trees awarded this year for applicants, ensuring continued accessibility. We offer our sincerest appreciation for your efforts and assistance with our mission.
