AT THE LIBRARIES

Taylor Swift Trivia Night at the Abbott and Double Header Movie at the Abbott… “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” & “Charlie Brown Christmas”

Tracy Library in New London presents a very special display of White House Ornament Collection.

Our much anticipated White House ornament collection is back!

These ornaments were collected by Dolly (Delores) Harrod, a New London resident and patron, who lent them to us to display each Christmas until her death in 2006. She worked at the State Department and received an ornament each year as a gift, starting in 1981. Dolly's wishes were that her husband, Jack, also a patron of the library, donate the entire collection to us and that he continue to purchase each new ornament. He did so until his death in 2018. Tracy Memorial Library now continues the tradition by purchasing each new years' ornament.

Join us for a Teen Book Group that meets every third Saturday of the month from 12:30-1:45 pm in the Newbury Public Library Meeting Room. This month's meeting is Saturday December 16th at 12:30pm at the Library! We will discuss our favorite books, snack a bit, and maybe do a craft or play a game.

New members in 6th Grade and up are always welcome! Homeschool students are always welcome!

The Richards Free Library Cat Calendar for 2024 featuring library cats Dexter & Minerva, has arrived!

Calendar includes wonderful photos taken by staff members and library patrons.

Stop in and pick one up for yourself or a special holiday gift. Calendars are $12.

Dock De-Icers

The NH law on de-icers reflects new technologies, increased safety and access for property owners. Timers and temperature controllers are easy to install. Double check to make sure your de-icer is up to code, safe and protecting both your property and your environment.

De-icers only need a few hours each day to do their jobs! In addition, a device that runs for only 2-4 hours a day will significantly reduce operating costs.

Dock De-Icer Information

• Use a thermostat to run the de-icer only when the air temperature drops below freezing

• Use a timer - run the device for only 2 - 4 hours a day

• Set up your de-icer to form a narrow open water area around your dock

• Point a circulator device in a vertical direction rather than at an angle towards the middle of the lake to minimize dangerously thin ice (use a purpose built bracket rather than ropes for easier adjustment - most manufacturers offer them as an accessory)
