Hello & Shabbat Shalom.
Adoption saves lives, and since this is National Adoption Month we are happy to explore it with you.
There are no national statistics on how many people are waiting to adopt, but experts estimate it is somewhere between one and two million couples. Every year there are about 1.3 million abortions. Only 4% of women with unwanted pregnancies place their children through adoption. https://adoptionnetwork.com/adoption-statistics
Abortion clinic counselors discourage confused and frightened clients from seeking adoption for their baby because clinics lose money with every adoption choice. Family members and friends often discourage adoption, pressuring vulnerable couples to seek abortion to save reputation and career. Because the majority of Jews believes that abortion provides the most practical solution, we rarely explore the adoption option. destroying our most precious resource, putting Jewish mothers in harms way, denying fathers the mitzvah of parenthood, and reducing family vitality. In many Jewish homes and communities, a cold, heartless, utilitarian outlook now characterizes a once warm and compassionate culture of life.
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:5
Judaism emphasizes the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death, making it incumbent upon Jews to find ways to save lives when dealing with unplanned and unwanted pregnancy. Adoption, marriage, and single parenthood are much better choices for Jews than the intentional killing of an innocent life to avoid embarrassment, inconvenience, or hardship. When pregnancy results from a mistake in judgement or action, killing innocent life is not the answer. HaShem blesses all involved when we provide safe haven and sanctuary for our unborn children and their parents.
The Jewish Pro-Life Foundation has many loving Jewish couples waiting to meet vulnerable Jewish parents and their unborn children at risk for abortion. Please check out our website for more information and share! https://jewishprolifefoundation.org/pregnant%3F
