Important Reminders

Mandatory Meeting for Work Based Learning

All Work-Based learning students and at least 1 guardian need to attend a mandatory meeting Thursday, January 11th from 6:30-7:30pm at the CEC High School in room 218. We will be filling out essential documents that need signatures from both students and parent. We will also be discussing expectations for WBL learning and what is needed to pass the class. Please make sure you are in attendance and if you cannot attend, communicate directly with Mrs. Galloway.

Textiles Class Needs Buttons

Do you, or anyone you know, happen to have extra buttons lying about, gathering dust, and taking up space? Our Textiles students will happily take those off of your hands!

Please donate any extra buttons to our amazingly creative Textiles class - you can drop off your donations at the front desk or contact our innovative Textiles teacher, Mrs. Bertoni, to make other arrangements.

We appreciate your continued support and donation of all things crafty!

Student ID Reminder

To assist campus security, this is a reminder that all students are required to have their ID visible on their person at all times with a lanyard or clip. We will have lanyards and clips available at the front desk for students who need them. But students are reminded that their ID needs to be visible anytime they are on campus rather than in a backpack or pocket. Please contact Court Sheffield with questions.

Last Chance to Order Your Yearbook!

Remember to order your Yearbook by January 26th!!!! Don't miss out on the memories - order yours today!

Financial Aid Made Easy

The Financial Aid Office will be hosting our FAFSA DAY on Saturday, February 3rd @ 11am – 1 pm at each campus location. The 2024-2025 FAFSA is for aid for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 semesters.

Haven’t heard of FAFSA day? FAFSA day is an opportunity for students and parents to get free help filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This event is open for all students and families! The FAFSA is the first step and a federal requirement for all college students who plan to pay for college with the help of Federal Student Aid like grants, work study and federal student loans.

We are seeking volunteers to help us make our event run smoothly. You do not need to be proficient with the FAFSA to volunteer; we also need volunteers for set-up, greeters and registration. We would love volunteers from all areas and various professions!

If you would like to volunteer please sign up here:

https://forms.office.com/r/M9zTwE6JZ9

For more information on the FAFSA Changes and upcoming workshops, please visit: https://www.frontrange.edu/admissions-aid/paying-for-college/financial-aid/how-to-apply/fafsa-changes-workshops.html

Please let us know if you have any questions. For those that volunteer, we will send out more information as we get closer to the event.

Thank you in advance for your help making our FAFSA event a success!

Calling All Future Teachers!!!

The Career Pathways Coordinator, Stephanie Staudacher, is taking a small group of students to this all-day “Future Teacher Conference” at UNC on Friday, February 2nd for those with a strong interest in learning more about the teaching profession. Due to transportation logistics, she is only able to accommodate transportation for 5-6 students (as of now). Students beyond this number will need to provide their own transportation.

Students must register on their own (and we cannot see who registers).

Register to attend here: UNC's Future Teacher Conference (unco.edu)

AND, when you register, please contact Mrs. Staudacher via Teams, at Stephanie.Staudacher@coloradoearlycolleges.org, or visit her in the Career Center (Room 411), so we know who will be going!

CEC PARENT RESOURCES

Everyone is welcome!

No volunteering, no commitment.

Our Parent Resource Group meetings are friendly and casual, a place for parents to meet other CEC families and share stories, ask questions, and find information. Any questions brought up are placed as an agenda item for our SAC (School Accountability Committee) meetings with CEC Leadership.

Research shows that when parents are involved in their children's education, they benefit emotionally, socially, and academically.

We all meet regularly to have fun and organize events. Be part of our team! Visit our website or email cecfcsac@gmail.com if you're interested.

Thank you very much, CEC Parents!
