We owe a debt of gratitude to all who have served, regardless of their branch or the nature of their service – whether in peacetime or during times of conflict. Those who answered the call to serve our country deserve our heartfelt thanks. Let us take a moment to reflect upon their courage and selflessness this weekend. Extend your appreciation to a veteran today and continue to support those aging and ailing veterans who require care from a grateful nation.
We owe veterans a debt for the rights we have as American Citizens and that includes the right to vote. Many of us went to polls to decide some very important issues here at home and around the country. The results across the country were a mixed bag and I'm sure you've seen some of the breathless analysis so far. We must learn lessons from defeat while we rejoice in our victories. I look forward to exploring these results on future Calls to Action.
In the meantime there is a lot to celebrate here in Texas. A whopping 85% of Texans voted to institute one of the largest property tax cuts in our state, ever. Now that's a reason to celebrate!
You can learn more about the election results here.
I look forward to our next call. In the meantime, enjoy Veterans Day and take a post election breather. But don't rest too long! The next special session is already underway and we have a lot of work to do!
