What is a Muscle Knot?

Muscle knots, also known as myofascial trigger points, are areas of hyper-irritable muscle fibers or fascial tissue. These tight bundles can feel like a tangle or knot within the muscle.

While medical treatments are available, many muscle knots can be alleviated through home therapies like massage and stretching. If the pain continues, our physical therapists in Chicagoland and Central Illinois are here to help create a personalized treatment plan.
