Employee Appreciation Recipients | |
|
Edwin Cardona Cortez, Facilities Management, IT (September)
Edwin was nominated for his contributions to the UNLV Rebel CAP kickoff event. When Facilities Management (FM) leadership needed technical support to launch the university’s climate action planning process, Edwin eagerly stepped up to the challenge. He took the initiative to test and monitor the event’s audio equipment while hosting the Zoom livestream. This process was new to him, but he handled it expertly. Thank you, Edwin, for all you do!

Hugo Calderon Cortes, Financial Services (September)
Hugo was nominated for his leadership during the implementation of TeamDynamix (TDX) ticketing for worktag requests for Accounting Services. Changing a process format this substantial can be complex and, at times, stressful. His ability to handle pressure in these types of situations did not go unnoticed. His work automated a process that was previously handled using email and Excel spreadsheets. This improved service to our customers and saved time for Accounting Services. Thank you, Hugo, for all you do!

Charlie Cisneros, Facilities Management (October)
Charlie was nominated for the great strides she’s made since joining the Facilities Management (FM) team. After being hired as a temporary worker, she quickly became proficient in UNLV and FM procedures and immediately passed along her knowledge by training new student workers. She has also led the training for FM’s transition to RebelDocs and TDX. Recently, she assumed the duties of working with campus constituents and utility providers to pay all associated utilities. The previous process of receiving paper utility bills caused some payments to arrive after the due dates. To solve this issue, she worked with each utility company to create online accounts and changed UNLV’s billing preference from mailed bills to e-bills. This change in strategy enabled the university to review due dates and save money. Thank you, Charlie, for all you do!
