CHRISTMAS DECORATING

The Worship Arts Team needs your help decorating the Sanctuary for Christmas on Saturday, December 2 from 11:30am to about 1pm. All ages are welcome. Part of our task will be creating ornaments for the congregation to hang on the trees on December 3. We will have pizza after we decorate! This is a job for you even if you don't have a creative eye...if you can follow directions, please come lend a hand! Please sign up here if you plan to come and reach out to Pastor Hannah with questions.

PRE-COUNCIL MEETING

This year's Pre-Council Meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 6 at 6:45pm (after the Community Meal) in the Sanctuary. The purpose of this meeting is to engage in an initial discussion about the 2024 HBIC Budget. The information packet will be available soon!

There will be no Kids Club, Youth Group, Prayer Meeting or Adult Study on this night. Childcare will be provided.

COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS

We work together every Christmas to bless families in our community with gifts. Please join us in our efforts by volunteering! Our Outreach team will need help with bringing gifts out of storage and organizing them on tables on Friday, December 15 from 6pm to 9pm. We also need volunteers on Saturday, December 16 from 8:30am to 1pm for the event itself (greeting families and helping them "shop" for gifts). If you can help, please sign up here or at the info desks in the Sanctuary.

2024 DIRECTORY

In the New Year, we’re launching a new directory program that will help us centralize information across ministries. Please help us transition well by filling out a card on the info desks at the church or by completing the online form here!

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE

There are several positions the Nominating Committee will be working to fill for voting at the January Council Meeting. You're invited to share names of those in the congregation you feel God has equipped for the following positions for consideration by the  Nominating Committee: Church Board member, Deacon Team member, Property  Committee member, Regional and/or General Conference delegate. To share your recommendations, contact Pastor Hank.

GROCERY GIFT CARDS

You can purchase gift cards for Giant, Weis and Karns through HBIC and we get 5% of the value of the card! We will have a table available in the lobby on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in between services for card purchases. You can also contact the church office or Pastor Lynda to order and we will arrange a pick-up time with you!

MISSIONS SUNDAY OFFERING UPDATE

Each year on Missions Sunday, we take a special Missions Offering, which is used primarily to provide a love gift to all of the missionaries sent out from our church (currently we have 14 individuals or families serving). Our Offering Goal is $14,000 or more. Together as a church family, we've given $13,422.35 so far this year! If you haven't yet had a chance to give, you can still do so online or by mailing a check to the church (marked for Missions Offering) anytime between now and the end of November.

During 2023, the HBIC Missions Ministry Team is highlighting a different Missionary of the Month, helping the congregation to know more about their work and inviting special prayer for them throughout the month.

For the month of November, please join in praying especially for Dahru and Joyce (serving in medical ministry in Northeast India), as well as the children, Lightson, Melody Joy, Khopunii, and Leshipa.

Below is a photo of the interior of their medical clinic building being painted. They've been hard at work on the clinic for a number of years.

Click here to access the Missionary of the Month page with a number of specific prayer requests for Dahru and Joyce and family, along with their contact info to send a note of encouragement.

(Touch base with Pastor Lynda or others on the Missions Ministry Team if you'd like to know more about any of the missionaries sent out from HBIC.)

We welcome you to contact us by email or by phone if you have a need. Here is the contact information for our pastoral and office staff.
