Mr. Nathaniel Shearer Awarded Good Samaritan Award | |
Mayor and Council recognized Mr. Nathaniel “Nate” Shearer with the Good Samaritan Award for his quick and heroic involvement in assisting a young woman to safety in September.
In the early hours of September 21st, 2023, Mr. Shearer was on his way to work when he made a stop at Circle K on Sam Nunn Boulevard. Upon arrival, he noticed a violent assault taking place on an unsuspecting woman in the parking lot and quickly decided to intervene, ultimately bringing her to safety.
Shearer's presence, although coincidental, had a profound impact on the incident's outcome, preventing further harm, and his selfless actions merit recognition.

Be Stormwater Smart: Restaurants
When water from rain, snow, or sleet flows over the ground, it's called stormwater. Stormwater can pick up grass, oil, or litter from restaurant parking lots and alleys.
When stormwater flows into street gutters, storm drains, and downstream, it can pollute rivers, lakes, and streams.
