Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week

To recognize staff and faculty contributions to the university, throughout this week, several activities and discounts are available.

Improved Process for Staff and Manager Career Development Grants

In partnership with the Office of Human Resources, we recently reviewed the process for awarding staff and manager career development grants. As a result, several updates have been made to the process for the 2024 fiscal year. The grant application, award requirements, and steps to access funds have now been simplified and have a more clearly defined award period.

Grant funding up to $1,500 for individuals and up to $2,250 for groups of two or more is available for staff with at least a 0.75 FTE status who have been employed for at least one year. Only an interest in professional development is needed to apply; a specific course, program, or use for the funds is not required prior to applying or receiving a grant. 

Applications for the fiscal year 2024 cycle are open now through August 31, 2023. USAC will review completed applications to screen for eligibility and select recipients by a random drawing. More information, including application instructions and frequently asked questions, can be found below.

USAC Staff Spotlight

Have a staff colleague that exemplifies what it means to be a Buckeye? We want to hear about it! Nominate a fellow staff member and they may be chosen to be recognized in our Staff Spotlight series. Each honoree will receive a $50 gift card, sponsored by OHR.

The OSU Health Plan manages the healthcare insurance benefits and services offered to faculty and staff at The Ohio State University. By overseeing the many health and wellness resources available to members and giving them a single point of contact for all of their health plan needs, The OSU Health Plan makes staying healthy a little bit easier.
